Product Description

Bush Roots Blades

These are our in house designed and produced knives by Ben Piersma.

These are small batch hand finished tools designed for Bushcraft and Survival use.

Norse Spike

This is a Nordic inspired bush knife that fits a wide range of hands. The handle is 5/8" thick and starts at 1" wide and widens to 1 1/4" to fill the back of the hand.Flat sides with 45deg bevels on the top and bottom similar to some carving knives for control and being able to "steer" the blade. These 45deg bevels are softened on the top and bottom of the handle for comfort and give the handle more of a oval cross section. For pure carving nothing is more comfortable than a full oval cross section like our Lagom & Kamrat knives. The Spikes are a compromise between carving and giving you more control of the blade. This design really shines in cold weather while wearing gloves or mitts. Because of the flat sides these knives are very comfortable and unobtrusive for pocket carry or neck carry.

Kydex Sheath with discreet carry pocket/belt clip (fits up to 1 3/4" wide belts) This sheath lays flat for pocket carry or can easily be used as neck carry by adding a cord. Clip can be moved to either side or to the rear for belt carry.

Overall 8 1/4"

Blade 3 5/8"

Handle 4 5/8"

1/8" 80crv2 Carbon Steel hardened to 58-59 RC

TeroTuf Handle -Extremely durable, lighter than Micarta and has a non slip texture when wet or dry.

Scandinavian grind with no secondary bevel. This is the best grind for peeling bark and carving and the user can easily add a secondary bevel during sharpening if needed.

80CrV2 has been around for many years under the common nickname “Swedish saw steel.”

80CrV2 steel is a high-carbon tool steel that contains chromium as well as vanadium in quantities high enough to affect the strength and hardness of the crystalline matrix of the steel. Vanadium is an element that is added to steel alloys that are typically used to produce excellent edge retention. Vanadium is prized in knife-making because it produces very durable carbides at the molecular level of the cutting edge. Tool steel, heavy equipment, and even nuclear reactors use vanadium in their construction.

CIP TeroTuf™, originally designed as a wear material for industrial use, was introduced to the knife industry as a new option for handles. This material has quickly become a preferred alternative to many other utilitarian handle options. TeroTuf is made with 100% polyester resin and fabric with no fillers, is non-toxic, chemically resistant to most cleaning supplies, and does not swell in water. TeroTuf has been weather tested by Ochs Sherworx (after twenty-seven weeks in the sun CIP material showed no noticeable change).
