   Everything you would want in a bushcraft knife!
   Super sharp edge, great square spine for ferrocerium
   rod use and a thicker spine that can withstand light
   to medium batoning! Overall a great product and price! Thanks again to Ben's Backwoods!! A great

3. excellent survival knife

   This is one of the best survival knives that I own.heavy duty blade. excellent handle and sheath that will not rot like leather.Mora knifes are high quality and low price.Most of knifes now come from China.The steel is not the same.Swedish steel is probably the best.My knifes are either Ka bar or Mora.

4. Liking this knife allot better

   I previously wrote another review on this knife in which I announced some dissatisfaction with this knife. My complaint was that this knife really wasn't any better than my Mora Robust.
   My purpose in writing a second review is not to detract my previous statement, but to give the knife another star for the new found confidence in this knife.
   While preforming some routine tasks the other day I was really appreciating the way the knife handled. Not that it was better than the Robust, but it was allot better than the three star rating I gave it........
   Oh, and the JRE Bushcraft Sheath is very nice and well worth the money. Consider that too.

5. Its Okay

   After using this knife for a few weeks I have reached this conclusion... You're better off purchasing the Mora Robust.
   Not that the Black is a bad knife. Its cutting performance is excellent. The problem is that it doesn't perform any better than the Robust which is half the cost.
   Sure the Black has a slightly longer blade, slightly wider and thicker too. And its spine is also squared off for using as a striker with a ferro rod. But as far as its performance, these features did nothing to enhance the overall performance of the blade. My Robust performs just as well.
   I also don't like the handles seam that runs the length of the knife down the knifes spine on the Black. That looks like a possible point of failure in the knifes future, especially if you are planning to use a baton on it.
   I don't necessarily regret buying the knife, just paying the amount that I did for it over the Robust and getting the same performance.
   Had I known this I would not have purchased the JRE Bushcraft Sheath for it. Its a nice sheath, but I spent extra money on a knife that's less than I desired.

   I was able to get a shaving sharp edge with very little work, and it has performed above expectations thus far. You can't beat the value of a Mora.

7. One of the top bushcraft knives period.

   In a world where the word bushcraft plus knife equal $100+ this knife shines not only because of it price but, perhaps in spite of it. It will perform any bushcaft task and excels at it. Now can it baton a 6 inch hickory log, no but my very broken $200 knife is proof that you shouldn't be doing this in the first place. The handle is extremely comfortable with no hot spots. Despite report to the contrary, I have no problem with any grip style I have tried, and tried ever one I could think of. Again this is one of the best bushcraft knives period. If you don't own one you should, even if you own a high dollar uber-knife, because 2 is 1, 1 is none.

8. Great knife

   Extremely high quality for about $40. I have a couple #2's and a companion which are all great but this is the next level in quality. Came razor sharp, I used it to limb some small branches on a few trees I cut for firewood and it's still just as sharp as when I received it. Shipping was quick as usual.

10. Food safe oil to prevent rust.

    Some people don't like carbon blade knives because of the oil they put on the blade doesn't, or shouldn't, mix well with food. I wouldn't argue that point, but I have found a safe alternative.
    
    In Grant Cunningham's book: GunDigest Book of the Revolver, he recommends a food safe oil to prevent corrosion on firearms. It was designed for high speed food processing equipment so it also lubricates and has anti-wear properties. The product is called FMO-350-AW by a company called Lubriplate. I use the product on my guns and knives and have had no issues.
    
    Just thought you might like to know about an alternative to 3-in-1 oil on your carbon knife.
