Good quality and fair price. My eyes need help now, so I stash these everywhere as a backup to reading glasses. Fire starting is nice bonus.

I've not tried to start a fire, when the sun comes out again I will but the weather isn't helping. But it does a great job reading the mice-type people use to fit mandatory warnings and directions in the smallest area possible.

This small but potent Fresnel lens is of fine quality, and of course, compact size. It is a great addition to all BOGs and survival kits. Added benefit...it is a great magnifier when you need a close look at almost anything!

High magnification, small, lightweight, inexpensive. Nothing bad to say about these

These are a tiny and light (pun) package that can be used to make fire on any sunny day. With a steady hand and something flammable (paper, charcloth, leaves, etc...) flame is easy to achieve. The lens fits easily in the bottom an Altoids container, with the plastic cover it is a little too big, unless the edge of the cover is folded. Folding the cover edge does not fold, or hurt, the lens.

These compact fresnel len's are 5x power, and work fantastic to create an ember on a sunny day, and that saves us from using other sources that will eventually have to be replaced. Using the magnifacation of the sun is a free resource, so why not use it. Every kit need's to have one of these fresnel len's encluded. I even keep one in my wallet as a back-up. Buy 4/5, you'll be glad you did!

These take up no room in your pocket, wallet, or pack and give you magnification and fire starting in an inexpensive, portable, and tiny package. Great gift to give and to receive.
